ABOUT SAWA

SAWA - short for Sustainability Alliance with Arabs - is a collaborative network of change-makers across the Arab world and its diaspora. We amplify regional voices, accelerate sustainability efforts, and build cross-border partnerships that drive solutions for our collective future rooted in culture, equity, and impact. In short, we’re here to connect, inspire, and empower individuals who identify as Arab and are passionate about sustainability.

We bring together Arab professionals and allies from across the globe to connect, exchange ideas, and build partnerships. Through shared values and cross-border collaboration, we’re fostering a network rooted in solidarity and collective action.
SAWA is a space for learning and unlearning. We share research, insights, and regional case studies to deepen understanding of sustainability across diverse sectors - from climate justice, to ESG, urban design to green finance.
We spotlight and support creative solutions emerging from the Arab world. Whether tech-driven or community-based, we amplify ideas that move us toward a more just, resilient, and sustainable future.
We believe that representation matters by elevating Arab voices in the field. SAWA uplifts the voices, experiences, and successes of Arab change-makers; making sure our region is not just seen, but heard in global sustainability conversations.
